Prefix, Suffix, and Affix Review

You will need:

Your journal
A pencil
A timer


You will:
Set the timer for 15 minutes and watch the Brainpop Video below and then complete the other
two prefix/suffix/affix games.
 When you are finished, make a list of 25 words you know with prefixes or suffixes.
Label your paper, "Prefix, Suffix, and Affix Review" and put your name and date on the paper.

What's Your Point of View?

We don't use the second person point of view much in 5th grade, but it is helpful to know. Try identifying the point of view in the following sentences. Please label your paper, "What's Your Point of View?" include your name and date at the top of the paper.

Directions: read each text and determine the narrator’s point of view.

1.  “Do you love candy?”  I asked my friend Roxis.  I always make friends with other people.

2.  To Make French Toast: First, take out a skillet to cook and turn the stove on low.  Second,
you will melt the butter in the pan and stir it with a spatula.  Third, beat the eggs.  Fourth, lay the
bread, white or wheat, on both sides in the eggs.  Fifth, sit the bread on top of butter for 30
seconds and then turn over.  Now you have a slice of French toast, repeat.

3.  Jessie had felt sad all day.  Jessie thought and thought about his situation and he thought to

7.   When I went to the store, I witnessed a girl crying on the street and I took a closer look and

8.  Emma thought and she thought: How can I make people notice me?  Then, Emma’s two twin
